Notification of intent to Fell No. 1 Tree and Carry out Tree Surgery Works to No. 1 Tree within a Conservation Area. T1 is a small tree which I cannot identify, and which has mostly died-off now. The tree is obscured in plan view by a healthy, large beach tree, and nestles between other trees in a tightly packed manner. The tree itself, whilst not of immediately of danger (to occupants) has started to drop branches, and over-hangs the 'right of way path' running along the border of my garden with the added danger of a large branch fall. The pictures entitled 'unidentified tree 1' and 'unidentified tree 2' should show this over-hang. The trunk will be kept in-situ for aesthetic purposes and to strengthen the border. Trunk diameter is approximately 40cm (16"). T2 is a mature apple tree with large limbs being already dead. Lopping the dead areas off should allow the remainder to thrive, whilst at the same time eliminate the possibility of large pieces of limb or branch falling onto the adjacent property and causing damage. In both cases I have consulted an Arborist to ensure the work is practical. The Arborist confirmed that a planning application would need to be approved before he can start work.
